It is with deep sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of our board member and Chief Technology Officer, Rainer Hald. Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones during this difficult time, and we extend our sincere condolences to them.
After completing his training at VARTA AG in Ellwangen in 1989, Rainer Hald rejoined our Group in 2000 and has been part of VARTA AG in Ellwangen since then. He has played a decisive role in shaping the technological development of our Group for more than two decades. As CTO, he was responsible for key areas of innovation and future development, provided strategic impetus and made a significant contribution to strengthening VARTA AG's position as a technologically leading group. His professional foresight, integrity and high standards of quality and cooperation were of particular importance to VARTA AG – both internally and externally.
With his passing, we have lost a personality who played an extraordinary role in shaping VARTA AG. His work will continue to be visible long after his tenure. We will honor his memory with respect and gratitude!
